Electric heat units (50N units)

The 50N units may be equipped with

factory-installed electric heat, with 3

heat sizes available for every unit. The

heaters are resistance type, open wire

nichrome elements, insulated with ce-

ramic bushings, and include operating

and safety controls. The standard

heater control is a 2-stage type. An

optional SCR control is available for

applications requiring precise leaving

air temperature control.

Optional SCR controlled electric

heat — The SCR electric heat option

monitors unit supply-air temperature

and controls the electric heaters to pro-

vide first-stage demand heating con-

trol, with modulation to maintain user-

configured heating supply air tempera-

ture set point. The option also pro-

vides full output demand heating on

heating control command and temper-

ing heat control, based on user-config-

ured ventilation supply air tempera-

ture set point, to eliminate cold draft

conditions with low mixed-air tempera-

tures. The SCR control option consists

of an SCR controller capable of vary-

ing the heater output, supply air tem-

perature thermistors with duct-mount-

ing base, and required limit switch con-

figurations.
